As previously announced, an owner contact is now required for domain transfers in order to avoid transferred-in domains without an associated owner contact.
This requirement will affect all TLDs (and corresponding SLDs) that were switched to Minimum Data Set, as described by the ICANN Registration Data Policy, or TLDs provided by the so-called thin registries:

This change will not impact other TLDs, where domains are expected to have an owner contact attached at the registry, and that contact will remain unchanged before and after the transfer.
Transfers without an owner contact will fail after September 28th 2026 with following error:
